25 March 2008, Boston, MA – So said a professor who encountered me
pointing my camera at the ground outside the School of Management. I
don't think he was taking into account the field of view of my lens,
and the way the setting sun was hitting the sidewalk and creating
long shadows. I murmured something to the effect of "the shadows…"
but he had already hurried into the building for a class or
something. I thought to take this picture after seeing another
photogs work that featured the shadows of subjects, rather than the
subject itself and I decided to give it a half-assed try on the way
to my evening class to see how it affected my creative process. Now I
guess it's time to get the other half of my ass into it and prove the
professor wrong.
