22 April 2008, Boston, MA – I found these two hits from my coverage of the marathon. This shot was posted as both an “Editors’ Pick” and one of the 14 best photos of the day from around the world. The funny thing is I debated with myself for a while about whether I should take it, since I shot a very similar image two years ago in basically the same spot. The older picture was what inspired CJ to hire me for this running of Boston’s biggest race, so I figured it was worth a second try. And it worked, so here it is.

i’m so behind on this comment, but major congrats on both the job and on the actual images you made doing the job. international recognition on the first job you consider your big step – kudos, you’ve set the bar quite high for yourself. (i’ve taught you well.) i’m excited to see you flourish when freed from the confines of higher education. keep shooting.
