16 April 2008, Boston, MA – This is the first image I made to
commence a study on reflections that I come across. I've been reading
a lot about various philosophers as well as going through an extended
period of self-reflexivity that I have inexplicably suppressed from
my photography. I'm not sure why, but the first image I posted was of
a reflection and, noticing that fact, I have since avoided making
pictures of reflections — save the one of Carlos Santana's
sunglasses. Today, when I couldn't figure out the reason for NOT
making reflective pictures, I decided to make that an intentional
goal of mine to find and photograph interesting reflections. I'll let
the definition of the word provide a basis on which to consider these
images.
